You have the gift of explaining complex conventions in an easy to understand fashion. As a newbie I have found the jump to OOP quite a steep learning curve with my first foray implementing and using the Yii framework. I bought the Yii Agile book which seems quite a good resource but I got a third way through it and couldn't get the code to work and gave up. I have to assume that there have been a lot of changes to Yii since that book was written which is why it doesn't work, though there are lots of comments about typos and errors. Since I'm at the bottom of the learning curve I haven't the skill to realise what is wrong with the code. However, your series has helped put me back on track and I look forward to either more blog tutorials or hopefully a new book which I shall buy instantly.

Hi Larry,

I have most of your books on PHP and have found your Yii tutorials the best out there. Anyway, do you think is secure to upload all files and folder structure to a production server? It is fine just to avoid index-test.php from production environment?

Can’t find where I read that, maybe I saw it in the definitive guide.
