I’m pleased to say that on Friday, September 9th, I received my hardcopies of the latest edition of “PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites: Visual QuickPro Guide”. This would suggest that the book should be available for purchase, or in bookstores, now or very soon. For details about the book, please see its corresponding pages. I’ve also created a new forum for this edition.

Thanks to everyone for their interest in the book!

  1. Pre-ordered on Amazon! According to them it will be in my hands September 23rd 😀

  2. Congratulations! I’ll be ordering my copy soon.

  3. Hey, Larry. I wish to ask you, if youre planning to publish new edition of “PHP5 Advenced: Visual Quick Pro Guide”. I have a chance to buy it now, translated in Polish, but its 2nd edition and its from 2007, so im wondering if its better wait a bit for new edition?

    • Thanks for your interest in the book. I will be doing another edition of my “PHP 5 Advanced: Visual QuickPro Guide”, but I won’t be starting until 2012, meaning it won’t be published in the US until mid-2012. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s at least a year form now before it’s available in Polish. I feel like the current edition is not terribly outdated, though. Thanks again for the interest!

  4. Thanks, for your reply, It’s so cool i have a chance to chat with a man who taught me programming. Ok, then im gonna buy 2nd editon. Cheers.

  5. hey Larry, what is the difference between the book you have out in march and the book in September? I’m a web designer and a beginner with php but want to learn more.. do both books cover the same topics?

    • Hello Brody. Thanks for your question and for the interest in the book. I answered this on Amazon (to your post there), but the short answer is that the “PHP for the Web: Visual QuickStart Guide” is for absolute beginners to programming. It covers all the fundamentals, but only touches upon MySQL and SQL. The “PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites: Visual QuickPro Guide” book is for those with some programming experience or comfort with a faster pace. It covers much of the same PHP, but goes into a LOT more MySQL and SQL and has a lot more examples, with more advanced code.

  6. In the book it says that i can download some files that will be helpful for the book, but here there is no clear location of where can I find the files that are necessary for the book.

  7. I saw your book but, before I buy it, I need to know how to download the php engine to my computer. Your book mentions Appendix, but I don’t know where to find it.

    Please help.

  8. What’s the difference between the Sept. 2011 and 2012 fourth edition of PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites? Thanks
