New Addition

Recommended Posts

I just want to take this opportunity to say how much I love reading your books I have 5 and I keep finding myself buying more. Its a great way to learn and the way you write keeps me enjoying every page! So thanks a lot for your time in making all this information available to us.

Now for my question or just some advice as to how I should go about this… I got my book yesterday about E-commerce and I just realized that the new addition is coming out in December. I already went through and made my marks on the first few chapters so I can’t exchange it… do I need to stop reading and wait for the newer addition? I am kind of upset because I am not sure if there are big changes and that it is better to just focus on the latest addition.  But I guess I do since any edition is probably making the older one better by fixing anything that needed to be changed…

I know this is silly but any advice would be apprciated.

Thanks.

(okay the title should say new edition**)

Thanks for the nice words. Very much appreciated. In terms of the new addition/edition (!), the existing material from the first edition is not significantly changed. I've changed the template used for the first example. I've optimized some code. I've expanded some explanations. But the general features and approach are all the same.

The most significant difference in the new edition are the four new chapters that make up Part 4 of the book. One chapter discusses about a dozen ways to expand the first site. Another chapter discusses about a dozen ways to expand the second. A third explains how to use JavaScript and Ajax to enhance and expand the examples. And the fourth new chapter talks about how to integrate Stripe.

I hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
