RainyRun
I've been having trouble understanding what exactly the salt argument and its purpose are. Can someone explain it in context (give an example?)? I've also been having some trouble with step 4 in the example in the book. I'm using phpMyAdmin and when I type in the code, it says that 'nacl' is not identified. Is this normal? If so, is there a way I can get around it or do I have to use the shell? Thanks! Larry
Here's a good explanation for why you'd use a salt: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_(cryptography) As for your problem with step 4, I don't have the book in front of me. What are you running in phpMyAdmin that's giving an error?
